Why is one of the most famous, and most well-known, lodge in the world?
In the mid-1900s, a group of Idaho whiteface-themed tourists spent a summer in the Great Basin’s Whiteface Wilderness and became enamored of the area’s rugged beauty.
The group’s passion was only heightened when the whiteface lodge opened in 1923.
The lodge became the first in the United States to feature the “Whiteface” seal of the Montana Fish and Game Department.
Now, in 2017, the lodge is the home of the Whiteface Lifts, an outdoor adventure that puts visitors in the heart of the Great White Mountains.
