Is a new ski area on the drawing board?
The Idaho Department of Natural Resources announced Monday it will host a public meeting on the proposal this week.
The state wants to build a new 2,500-acre ski area and lodge at the island drive in Montana, but its application has not yet been approved by the DNR.
The proposed project would be built on a 1,600-acre parcel of land that sits in the middle of the state’s mountain range.
The state hopes to eventually develop the area into a national monument.
